Pastor Scott Wendal
Senior Pastor
Our church began in the heart of Pastor Wendal soon after he was called into the ministry. He attained his Bachelor of Arts degree at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, in 1981. After completing a three-year internship in Fairfax, Virginia, Pastor Wendal came to the Valley Forge area in July 1984 to begin the Valley Forge Baptist Temple. Pastor Wendal and his wife, Jodie, have five children: Matthew, Jeremy, Megan, Scotty, and Amber. Pastor Wendal has been on the Board of Trustees of Baptist International Missions, Inc. since 2001.
Pastor Samuel Aylestock
Associate Pastor
Pastor Aylestock came to the church in the summer of 1994. His acquaintance with VFBT began before its founding as he helped with the promotional literature and in visitation. Pastor Aylestock entered the ministry in 1978 after his graduation from Tennessee Temple University. After fifteen years of ministry in Virginia and one year planting churches in Canada, he joined Pastor Wendal at VFBT to assist with the youth, visitation, and teaching ministries. He and his wife, Susan, have one daughter, Jamie.
Pastor Lamar Eifert
Associate Pastor
Pastor Eifert graduated from Cedarville College and came to VFBT in January, 1993, having moved from Maryland to the Collegeville area. While working for a major pharmaceutical company, the Lord called Pastor Eifert into full-time ministry, and he was ordained in May 2000. Pastor Eifert is responsible for our pastoral counseling. He is married to Ann, and they have three children, Eric, Kendra and Allison.
Pastor Ron Coulton
Associate Pastor
Pastor Coulton graduated from Kutztown University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and from Biblical Theological Seminary in 1981 with a Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Studies. In 1990, Pastor Coulton entered the itinerant ministry as an evangelist. He and his family became members of VFBT in January of 1992 and he has served as one of the deacons over six of those years. He joined the pastoral staff in 2002 with his ministry including overseeing the Prime Timers (those 55 years old and above), Singles 40+, Widows Watchcare, Rebekah, Hospitality and various teaching ministries. Pastor Coulton and his wife, Pam, were married in 1973 and they have two children, Grace and Ben.
Pastor Greg Joyner
Associate Pastor
Greg was raised in the “Tar Heel State” of North Carolina and after attending Guilford College in Greensboro, NC and majoring in Business Management, he married his high school sweetheart Peggy Brinkley. They now have three children, Brandon, Jaynie, & Lauren. Greg and his family joined Valley Forge Baptist Temple in October of 1991. Greg has served in many capacities, and during this time of worship and serving Greg responded to God’s call to serve in full time vocational Christian service. He has Biblical studies from Trinity College and Theological Seminary with an emphasis in Biblical Counseling.
Pastor Ernest Grooney
Associate Pastor
Pastor Grooney is our Junior High School Youth Director. He teaches teenagers in the Sunday school and Academy. Pastor Grooney currently serves as Vice Principal of our school, Valley Forge Baptist Academy. He graduated from Pensacola Christian College majoring in Youth Ministries and Physical Education. It was there that he met his wife Autumn. Autumn teaches our teen girls and sings in our music ministry. They now have two wonderful boys, Ethan Robert and Elijah Ryan.
